31-Day Blogging Challenge: Days 25-31

Wow…..I’m so sorry I haven’t posted since Monday, guys! I really didn’t expect to be that busy last week, but I was wrong. So I’m really sorry about taking a “leave of absence”, but don’t worry–I’m back today! πŸ˜€ And ready to answer these questions. XD

Day 25-Have I changed in the last two years?

I think I’ve definitely changed in the last two years! For one thing, I’ve (obviously) gotten taller. I also look a little bit older and I definitely am more mature/have a lot more common sense.
Another way I’ve changed is because two years ago, I wasn’t into dolls as much as I am now! I mean, of course I loved dolls and AG back then, but I never knew that people could blog about their dolls and take pictures of them and things like that. πŸ™‚ I also didn’t even consider the idea of starting my own blog back in 2013, so it’s pretty crazy to see how far I’veΒ come since then!

Day 26-Something I always think “what if?” about

OK, this might sound crazy, but almost every time I publish a blog post, especially if it has something to do with my interests in life or my faith, I always think, “What if people don’t like it and I end up losing a follower/followers?”. I know, your number of followers is just that–a number–and it doesn’t really matter how many people follow or read your blog. But I always am afraid that if I’m myself on my blog, people will think I’m weird and won’t like or want to read my posts. I’m not sure why I think this, because all of you are so sweet and are great online friends. But sometimes that negativity and worry just worms its way into your head without you wanting it to!

Day 27-My Hidden Talent

I have a talent for holding lots of stuff in and under my arms at one time. We eat out on the back porch a lot, and I hate having to make so many trips to get all the stuff I’m bringing outside. This morning, I ate my breakfast out there, and in one trip, I was able to bring out the plate with my cinnamon sugar donut on it (yes, I’m very healthy :P), my glass of orange juice, the newspaper, and my vitamin bottle. Don’t ask me how I did that, because I have no idea! But I definitely think but I have a real talent for that kind of stuff. πŸ˜‰

I also have a pretty good singing voice, which I didn’t really realize until recently. I mean, I always knew that I could sing well, but I never really thought my voice was outstanding. We were at a family party, and randomly my sister and I broke into song. I have to say, that night we actually sounded pretty good. This was a hidden talent that was even hidden from me! πŸ˜€

Day 28-Favorite movie that I never get tired of

Anne of Green Gables, from 1985. It’s such a good movie! I was probably about three or four when I first saw this movie, and instantly I became obsessed with it. (I always enjoyed the part where Anne took the dare to walk on the roof. πŸ™‚ ) We watch Anne all the time in our house and it never gets old. πŸ™‚

Day 29-Something that never fails to make me feel better

Spending time with God (of course!), being with my family (especially at family parties), blogging, and writing stories/making up funny skits and plays. Here’s a really funny one I wrote a few weeks ago. My sister and I somehow started talking about what Avalon (a Christian band that I like) would do if they came to our house. I decided to write a scene about how Avalon would react when our mail came:

*sound of mail plunking into mailbox*
Avalon: THE MAIL’S HERE!!!
*all run like mad to front door and fight to be the first one to get there, go outside to mailbox*
Jody: Ooh! We got letters! We got lots and lots of letters!! *grabs envelopes and flings them out all over porch*
Janna: Jody, clean those up.
Michael: Hmm…let’s see here, we got a catalog…we got coupons, we got….
*All head inside at sit at dining room table*
Jody (sorting through mail): Junk, junk, junk, bill, junk, bill…
Cherie: sorting through mail, and humming at the same time
Janna: Are you guys EVER going to be done sorting through that mail?
Jody: Nahhh, probably never.

Yeah, it was late at night when I wrote this, and we were wide-awake and hyper because we were watching home movies in the living room. (For some reason my sister and I get really crazy when we watch movies at night, which is a lot.) But it was really funny and fun to work on!! πŸ˜€

Day 30-Why do I blog?

Well, this is an easy one! I blog for three reasons:

1. To share my opinions and interests with the world
2. To meet others that share the same interests as me
3. To make people happy! πŸ™‚

Day 31-Why did I enjoy completing this challenge?

OK, I’m going to be honest. I didn’t completely enjoy this challenge, just because I felt forced to post every day, and I wasn’t always able to get something up.

On the other hand, I did like telling you all a little bit more about me, PLUS the questions were super fun to answer! (Like the one about my favorite foods… YUM!) A big huge shout-out and thank you to Hayley for creating this challenge! What a cool, fun idea! Despite my tech problems and busyness this month, I really hope that I can do another challenge like this one again sometime. :

Have a great night, all! See you tomorrow!!

*Sunny

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Day 23

Hi all! For day 23 of this challenge, I’ll be talking to you about where I’ve traveled! So let’s get started!

Day 23-Where I’ve Traveled

My family has been to many different places. This year we took a trip to New Jersey for our summer vacation. Here is a journal entry from our trip:

7-22-15
We finally went back to the hotel around 3:30 to check into our room, which was finally ready. (Note: We stopped by the hotel before going sightseeing, just to see if we could put out luggage in our room…but our room wasn’t ready at the time. πŸ˜› ) Our room’s really nice, by the way. It only has one room with two big beds, as well as a teeny-tiny bathroom. I love it, though. The beds are pretty comfortable as far as hotel room beds go. And then [my sister] and I went SWIMMING!! That was really fun. We went in the outdoor pool, which was great b\c we had the pool to ourselves. It was a great first day, and I can’t wait for tomorrow!

So yeah, what do you think? You might notice that I repeat myself a lot here–I do that in journal entries all the time. πŸ˜›

Oh, and here are a few pictures I took on our trip:

image

Flowers outside the hotel. πŸ˜‰

image

A close-up shot of the indoor pool. (I took soooo many pictures here of the water….)

image

Super blue sky outside the hotel!!!

image

SUN!! πŸ˜€

I hope you enjoyed reading about our vacation! Oh, and about that “mistake” in the bats and birds entry, here’s a hint: it’s a grammatical error. πŸ˜‰

Stay cool!

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Day 22

Hello folks! I decided to try doing this every day again instead of every other day, because unlike last week, I’m not going to be as busy the next few days. πŸ™‚ So without further ado, I present day 22 of the 31-day Blogging Challenge!

Day 22-What I’m Looking Forward To

Next Saturday, my family’s having a get-together at my cousin and his wife’s house. They’ve been married for a few years, but we’ve never been to their house before, so I’m excited to check it out. Plus I’ll get to see my baby cousin Holly, their daughter, who is one year old and is SO cute!! πŸ˜€ (I personally think that babies are both adorable and fascinating…they have such little hands and feet….;))

We also always have really good food at family parties. My aunt (my cousin’s mom, and Holly’s grandmother) is amazing in the kitchen, so I have a feeling that there will be some dishes from her at the party. ☺ And from what I hear, my cousin’s wife is a pretty good cook too, so I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of food she’ll make for all of us.

So, that’s what I’m looking forward to! Are you looking forward to anything?

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Days 17-21

Hello everyone! Let me start off this post by saying that I am SO sorry I haven’t been around the last few days. This week has been really busy for me, and every day, by the time I was able to do a post, it was either too late or I was too tired. :/ But anyway, right now, for day 17 of this challenge, I’ll be telling you about my dream job!

Day 17-Dream Job

Okay, a job that I think would be really cool to have would be a world traveler. I really love visiting new places and I want to travel to so many countries around the world. So I think it would be really cool if that was my occupation in life!! πŸ˜€

Another job that I think would be fun is a pet photographer (mainly one who takes pictures of dogs, because I’m a total dog person. πŸ™‚ ) I absolutely love taking pictures of my own dog, and I think it would be so much fun to be around dogs all the time, taking snapshots of them. You just never know what to expect with dogs, plus they always make me laugh and help me feel better if I’m sad or stressed. That would be such an awesome job to have! I’d always look forward to going to work every day. πŸ˜‰

Now for day 18…my favorite childhood book!

Day 18-My Favorite Childhood Book

I’ve said this before, but my favorite book when I was little was The Poky Little Puppy. (It’s a pretty famous book, so I’m sure most of you have heard of it or read it before, but if not, click here to find out more about it.) It was basically about a curious puppy who would always wander away from his brothers and sisters and would end up in trouble. πŸ˜‰ So cute!! My dad would read this book all the time to my sister and I, and we loved it!! 😁 (I think my dad loved it too, but don’t tell him I told you that!! ;))

Onto day 19…

Day 19-Five Favorite Blogs

Okay, I decided to take a different approach to this, because I love so many blogs and could never pick five favorites, plus I wouldn’t want anyone to get offended if I didn’t pick them. So instead, I’m going to list five blogs which I love, that not many people seem to really know about yet. Here we go.

1.Dolls Are Best Friends Always-Nikki is from the United Kingdom, which I think is really cool! Her posts are usually told from one of her dolls’ points of view. And boy, does Nikki have a lot of dolls! Not just AG, but tons of other cool brands, such as My Twinn, and some I’ve never even heard of! Nikki’s most recent post (told from the point of view of her doll Elyssa) was very amusing, so just check out her site if you’d like to read it!

2. God’s Bright Light-Maddi is a newcomer to the blogosphere, and I’ve only recently discovered her blog. But despite all this, I think Maddi is a terrific blogger! One of her most recent posts was on how to stay cool during the summer (which is very important!), and I thought her ideas were really neat. πŸ™‚ I also enjoyed reading about her vacation to Canada and Maine. If that sounds like something you’d like to read about, just click the link to Maddi’s blog!

3. A Girl With A Book In Her Hands-BookwurmGirl writes about so many great things-fun trips she’s taken, CD reviews, family life, and so much more. Her most recent post was about her grandmother’s friend who has just died. 😦 I’m sure she would appreciate it if you kept this friend in your thoughts\prayers….and also checked out her blog!

4. Craig & Christian Music-If you are a fan of Christian music like I am, you’ll definitely want to check Craig’s blog out. He doesn’t post very often, but his older entries are really fun and interesting to read. I love hearing his opinions on songs, albums, artists, etc. And lately I’ve been the only person commenting on his blog, so I think Craig would appreciate some new readers. πŸ˜‰

5. Every Bit of Lovely-Shelby is a really cool girl who loves God, photography, and a bunch of other things. Her posts are always really fun to read and her photography skills are amazing! If you stopped on over and said hi, I’m sure it would make her day! 😁

Got any other cool blogs you’d like me (or anyone else) to check out? Let me know in the comments!

Day 20-An Old Picture of Me

OK, I had to get creative with this one, since I can’t put a picture of myself on the internet for privacy reasons. πŸ˜‰ So I decided to show you guys an “essay” that I wrote in second grade about birds and bats. I don’t remember writing this at all, which is really funny. Anyway, here it is:

I am going to tell you about bats and birds. Bats and birds are both animals, but bats can see in the dark and birds can’t. Bats are nocturnal, which means they sleep in the day, and they’re awake at night. Birds aren’t nocturnal. Both animals have wings and they can both can fly. I think bats and birds are cool because bats hang upside down and birds don’t. That’s all about bats and birds!

Haha, wasn’t I cute? And did you catch the mistake I made in there? Comment and let me know if you did. πŸ™‚

Day 21-Favorite Recipe

I’m going to share with you my yummy grilled cheese recipe. πŸ˜‰

Sunny’s Great Grilled Cheese

You will need:
-a frying pan
-a microwave (hey, I’ve gotta include it–it’s important!)
-a spatula
-two plates
-a stick of butter
-a knife
-two slices of bread
-some cheese slices
-ketchup
-mustard
-a stove to cook everything on!!

Here’s what you do:

1. Using the knife, cut a piece off of the stick of butter and put it on one of the plates. Then put the plate in the microwave. (It can not be a paper plate because those will burn in the microwave.)

2. Heat the butter in the microwave for about 5-10 seconds until it’s soft enough to spread with a knife.

3. Take the butter out of the microwave and spread some of it on one bread slice.

4. Place the bread slice butter-side down in the frying pan (which should be on the stove!).

5. Put the cheese, ketchup and mustard (my signature ingredients for this!!) on top of the slice of bread.

6. Take the other slice of bread and butter that.

7. Put the bread slice butter-side up in the frying pan.

8. Heat up the stove and use the spatula to slide the sandwich around in the pan for a few minutes, until you hear the pan sizzle. Then flip the sandwich over. Keep flipping the sandwich over a couple of times until both sides of the bread are golden brown.

9. Grab the pan in one hand and the spatula in the other, and using the spatula, take the sandwich out of the pan and put it on the other plate. (This one can be paper!)

10. Cut the sandwich (optional) and enjoy! 😁

I hope you liked learning about how to make a grilled cheese sandwich! It tastes delicious, and it’s pretty easy to make, so if you want, give it a try sometime!

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Days 15 & 16… And Tablet Pictures

Hi everyone! I can’t believe we’re already more than halfway through this challenge! I’ve decided that from now on, I’ll be doing these posts every other day, because it’s becoming really tough for me to do this every single day. So that means today I will be doing both day 15 and day 16.

First off, I’ll be sharing with you all what ten of my favorite foods are. So, let’s get started!!

Day 15-My Favorite Foods

1. Chicken Tenders (or any kind of chicken)
Most of the time when my family goes out to eat, I usually order chicken tenders\fingers. They’re just so good! The delicious breading on top, the yummy meat inside…and some honey mustard and ketchup to dip the things in! And, of course, you can’t forget the french fries! Yum!
I also really like fried chicken (delicious!!!), and anything chicken-related, really. My mom makes the best barbecued chicken. πŸ˜‰

2. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
I make grilled cheese for myself all the time. It’s actually pretty easy to make… and I add my own little twist to it…;) Plus it tastes delicious!

3. Seafood
My family has seafood for dinner a lot, mainly either shrimp, tilapia, or flounder. It’s all so tasty!

4. Hot Dogs
This past week, we had hot dogs for dinner several times, and I never got tired of eating them! They are so many ways to enjoy them: with mustard, with ketchup, with relish, with cheese, or just plain. πŸ™‚ With that many options to choose from, how can you get tired of them?? And with our hot dogs, my family sometimes has some tasty macaroni salad, which brings me to number 5….

5. Macaroni Salad
Macaroni salad is basically just macaroni noodles, cut-up peppers, and things like that mixed in mayonnaise. It’s a great dish to have on hand at a summer barbeque, because it goes great with hamburgers, hot dogs, or really anything!

6. Brownies
Seriously, who doesn’t love brownies? They’re so delicious and chocolatey and fudgy and just all around good! And they go great with ice cream!

7. Ice Cream
Ice cream isn’t just great with a brownie or on top of apple pie- it’s wonderful on its own, too! I love all kinds of ice cream- chocolate, vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and especially fudge brownie! You just can’t go wrong with ice cream!

8. French Fries
When my family goes out to McDonalds or another restaurant, I always love having french fries with my meal. It’s always so much fun to dip them in ketchup or mustard….and then gobble them up! πŸ˜€

9. Spaghetti
I always know we’re going to have a good meal when my family has spaghetti for dinner. I love pouring the sauce over the noodles, sprinkling cheese on top, and then mixing everything together. And you sure can’t forget the meatballs and garlic bread! πŸ˜‰

10. Chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are by far my favorite kind of cookie. In my opinion, the more chocolate chips on the cookie, the better! These go great with a big glass of milk, too. πŸ™‚

Alright, well, those are 10 of my favorite foods! Now let’s move on to day 16-when I get to talk about the best thing that happened to me this year. πŸ™‚

Day 16-Best Thing to Happen This Year

This is a pretty easy one for me, actually. The best thing to happen this year was definitely when I started my blog-on March 13th, 2015. If I had never done that, I probably would never have met all of you amazing people. You all make me feel so good about myself, and it’s so much fun to talk back and forth with you through the comments. πŸ™‚ I really don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have all of you as internet friends. ☺

Okay, well, I guess that just about covers it for now! But before I go, here are some pictures of my brand new tablet that came on Friday.

Please note that in order for me to get this tablet right away, I agreed to give up my allowance for a couple of months, until I’m able to pay the price of this tablet off. My parents are very generous and nice to make that deal with me. So I just want to say, before we get started with this little introduction, thank you so much, Mom and Dad! I really appreciate this. πŸ™‚

image

First of all, this is the box that the tablet came in. πŸ˜‰

image

The awesome cover! I love the fact that it’s lime green. For some reason, my tablet didn’t come with a case, so we had to order this separately. But we got a great deal on this case, so I’m very happy that I was able to get it. πŸ™‚

image

Here’s what my tablet looks like when you open up the case. Isn’t it so adorable-looking? It’s a 7-inch tablet, so it’s on the small side, but I love it. I think it’s the perfect size!

image

Here’s a comparison picture with my old tablet and my new one. My old one (which was a 10-inch RCA) looks like a giant compared to my new tablet. Plus it had a keyboard and was sooo much heavier than my Acer. I definitely do not miss the bulkiness of my old tablet, and I surprisingly don’t miss the keyboard as much as I thought I would. The on-screen keyboard I use now is pretty nice. I sometimes even use voice text, which means you just talk at the screen and your words show up on there without you having to type anything! I’ve used it a little in my recent posts, and it sometimes gets words wrong, which is why you may have noticed some silly mistakes on here. πŸ˜‰

But anyway, yes, I am absolutely thrilled with my new tablet! I think it’s worth giving up my allowance for a couple months, don’t you? Besides blogging, I also use this tablet just for fun stuff, and also for my schoolwork. So, yes, I’ll really be getting my money’s worth out of this. I really hope it lasts a long time!

OK, that’s it for today. Have a great rest of your Sunday and stay cool–it’s hot out there! πŸ™‚

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Day 14

Hi all! In today’s post, I’ll be telling you about a difficult time in my life.

Day 14-A Difficult Time In My Life

Four years ago, my parents decided to homeschool my sister and I. Our old school wasn’t the best one out there, and both myself and my sister had to endure lots of teasing from the other students. 😦  My parents really thought that homeschooling was the best option for our family.
I agreed to the idea at first, and so did my sister. After all, we absolutely hated our school and couldn’t wait until the end of the year so we could finally get out of there. And from the way my parents talked about it, homeschooling sounded like it would be a lot of fun. I mean, just think about it! We would get to be home all the time, with my mom as our teacher (and Dad as the “principal”), going at our own pace with our schoolwork. No more rushing through a whole math chapter in one day and then taking a test on that chapter the next day. Plus we’d be able to spend a lot more time together as a family, even though my dad worked Β at an office for most of the day. πŸ˜‰

Weeks later, it was finally summer vacation, and my mom, sister, and I went school supply shopping. Our school supply “list” was a lot less strict than the one we’d had at our old school. We were free to choose whatever kind of notebooks and folders that we wanted. None ofΒ  them had to be a certain style or color, which, at the time, was a nice change of pace for us. I was still pretty excited for school at this point, even though I had absolutely no idea what to expect.
Okay, right now you’re probably thinking that this doesn’t sound like it was a difficult thing for me at all. Don’t worry, I’m getting there.

Over the summer, I guess my sister and I kind of forgot all the bad things that happened at school that past year. We kept remembering the good parts of the past school year and would talk about them to each other constantly. The teachers (well, the nice ones), art class, the delicious school lunches…all that stuff. The more we thought about our old school, the more strange homeschooling seemed to us. But we would still try being homeschooled and see how it worked out.

So the first day of school arrived. I don’t remember very much of what went on that day, but according to my mom, by lunchtime, her, my sister, and I were all just in tears. Everything was so new, and we were a little stressed since it was the first day. Later that day, I talked to my cousins on the phone about their first days of school since they went to a regular school. They told me about their days, and that’s when I realized how much I missed being in a brick-and-mortar school.
For the rest of that week I thought nonstop about our old school. I wanted to be in an actual school again, around all those kids and all the teachers, the art classes, and those delicious school lunches.
My parents were patient with me though. They told me that as time went by, I would grow to really enjoy being homeschooled and wouldn’t miss my old school at all anymore. I didn’t exactly believe them at first, but I hoped that they were right.

By the end of the first school year, I absolutely loved being home schooled. I was getting to do so many things that I had never been able to do when I had gone to a regular school. My mom, sister, & I would meet up with my dad for lunch at restaurants every so often, which was always really fun. On nice days, we would go to the park and get some exercise. We even took some local classes for a while, such as drama, piano, etc. After experiencing all of these fun things, I never again wished to go back to my old school.

Today, 4 years later, we are just about to start our 5th year of being homeschooled. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for the upcoming school year. I know that I’m very blessed to be home schooled, and right now I would like to thank my parents for deciding to take this risk. The risk definitely paid off, because now all four of us absolutely love being a homeschooling family. I didn’t realize it at first, but my parents were right when they had told me to give homeschooling a chance. If I had never done that, I probably never would have realized how much of a blessing it has been in my life.

Well, that’s all for today! I wanted to get up pictures of my tablet today, but my sister was on the computer until really late, and I’m pretty tired right now so I’ll wait till tomorrow to upload those pictures. And stay tuned for tomorrow, when I’ll talk about my 10 favorite foods… YUM!

Have a great night, guys, and see you tomorrow!

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Days 12 and 13

Hi everyone! So sorry I didn’t get another post up until today–the past few days have been busy, and both days, by the time I had a chance to post, it was pretty late. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, today I’ll be talking about my proudest day. So let’s get started!

Day 12-My Proudest Day

OK, my proudest day happened only a couple of months ago. In English class this past school year, I had to write a research report. I decided to write mine on golden retrievers and all the things they do to helpΒ people in needΒ (you’d be surprised at how many different jobs retrievers have!!). Before I wrote the final draft of my report, I was instructed (by our homeschool curriculum) to write a first draft of the entire thing. I would then mail this first draft to our curriculum’s graders, and they would proofread my report and give me suggestions on how to make it better.

I worked super hard on this first draft. I got books from the library, looked up information about Golden Retrievers on the Internet, and so much more. The report was pretty difficult to write, not only because I had to really think about what I wanted to say, but also because I had to make lots of footnotes, and list every source I used in a long bibliography. I had to use so many index cards (for my sources) that it was ridiculous!
I even worked on the report into my spring break (which started the Thursday before Easter). I remember sitting at the dining room table on Good Friday, with my index cards spread out all over, sorted into piles. I was totally exhausted, but I really wanted to get my report done so I could enjoy the rest of my break without having it hanging over my head. I was so close to being done, too!

Finally, the day before Easter, I think, I finished my first draft of my report. I printed it out and mailed it off to the curriculum graders not long after, wondering what they were going to think of my work.

About two or three weeks later, I was out with my dad and sister at the library. I was waiting for my dad and sister to be finished up, so I called my mom at home just to see how she was doing. She told me that she had some good news for me: the woman who had graded my report had just e-mailed my mom. This woman told her my report had been so good, that she was counting my first draft as my final grade for the assignment…and that my final grade was an A-plus. I was absolutely thrilled!! (And so was my sister, because the same thing had happened with her first draft. πŸ˜‰ )

So, yes, that was my proudest day. All of my hard work really had paid off. πŸ™‚ And you know what’s even better? I don’t have to write another research report this year! πŸ˜€

All right, I’m also going to be sharing with you the meaning behind my blog name. πŸ˜‰

Day 13-Meaning Behind My Blog Name

OK, I think I might have said this in another post, but I’ll say it again just in case. πŸ˜‰ I blogΒ  about a bunch of different things-American Girl, dolls, food, music, stories…the list goes on and on. And these things are all happy, fun topics that I really enjoy talking about. πŸ˜‰ So that’s the “everything fun” part, of course. My name is Sunny, and since I’d be talking about all these fun things, it made sense for the blog to be called “Everything Fun Under The Sun”.

Okay, that’s it for now, but later I’ll be back to tell you all about a difficult time in my life. ☺

Oh, and my new tablet came today!! (I’m using it now to type up this blog post, in fact.) So expect a post about that soon, too!

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Day 11

Hi all!

Today’s post is going to be all about the top 10 things on my bucket list. So…here we go!!

Day 11-Top 10 Things On My Bucket List

10. Improve my singing

9. Learn how to crochet

8. Travel to another country

7.Β Get a book published

6. Start a doll collection (I technically already have one, I guess, but it’s pretty small right now. πŸ˜‰ )

5. Improve my drawing skills

4. Cook an entire meal by myself (without burning anything!)

3. Own a Border Collie or Golden Retriever

2. Get better at photography

1. Get married and have some kids πŸ™‚

So yeah, that’s my bucket list! πŸ™‚ Pretty short list, right? πŸ˜‰

I’ll be back tomorrow to tell you allΒ about my most proud moment. πŸ™‚ “See” you soon!

31-Day Blogging Challenge: Day 10

Hey everyone! Today I’ll be telling you what an average day is like for me. But since it’s currently summer for me, I’ll be showing you all what an average summer day is like. πŸ˜‰ So let’s get started!

Between 8:15-9:00-I wake up and catch up on blogs/check my mail. This is also the time when I normally approve and reply to comments. πŸ™‚

Between 9:00-9:30-I go downstairs to the kitchen and eat breakfast, which is different every day for me-it depends on what I feel like and what we have in the house. Today I had some Alpha-Bits cereal and a big glass of orange juice-YUM!

Between 9:30-10:30-I do my kitchen chores and then get ready for my day. (Wash, dress, brush teeth, etc.) But on Fridays, I usually have to be done getting ready around this time, because I volunteer at the library on Friday mornings. πŸ˜‰

Between 10:30-11:30-Relax/do math review/do laundry. We also sometimes do errands during this time.

Between 12:30-1:15-Lunch, which again, depends on what we have in the house. Today my lunch was capicola (spicy Italian meat), cheese, mustard, and relish on rye bread. πŸ™‚ My sister and I eat out on the back porch a lot, while my parents watch TV in the living room (usually either the news or an old game show πŸ˜‰ ). As my mom says during the school year, “The teachers don’t eat with the students!”. XD

Between 1:15-5:30-Depends on the day. On Mondays, I volunteer at the library for two hours during the afternoon. Other days during this time, we might have errands to run or other things to do. I also might have some chores, likeΒ folding the clothes, during this time period too. One station near us airs Leave It To Beaver in the afternoon, too, so I try to watch that as often as possible…same with Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons on Hallmark Channel! πŸ˜€

5:30-Every other night at this time, I have to feed the dog. It’s 5:30 right now, but it’s my sister’s turn tonight-HAHA! XD

Between 5:30-6:15-My family eats dinner. πŸ˜‰ Tonight’s meal is chicken and baked potatoes, in case you’re wondering. (You can probably tell from all the tasty details in this post that I love my food!)

Between 6:15-7:30-My sister and I do our kitchen chores, and any other chores that needs to get done. We also like to just relax around this time, too. πŸ™‚

Between 7:30-8:00-My family goes for a walk around our neighborhood.

Between 8:00-9:00-My family prays a Rosary. πŸ™‚

Between 9:00-10:30-I get ready for bed and relax in my room.

10:45-Good night! πŸ˜€

I hope you enjoyed reading about what an average summer day is like for me. πŸ™‚ See you all later!

Day 7, 8, and 9

Good news! I figured out how to access WordPress on our family’s laptop without having the screen freeze! πŸ˜€ My wonderful dad suggested I try a different browser, and voila! It works perfectly. πŸ™‚ So thanks, Dad!
Also, I ordered a new tablet off of Amazon yesterday…it should be here late this week/early next week. I’ll give you more details when it arrives. πŸ˜‰

Day 8-My Earliest Memory of my Best Friend

I have a couple of best friends, but in this post I’mΒ going to tell you aboutΒ my earliest memory of my cousin. I actually have two early memories of her, and I can’t remember which comes first-so I’m just going to write about both of them! πŸ˜€

My cousin, along with her parents (my aunt and uncle), and her baby brother (my other cousin) lived really far away from us when we were little. But we’d get together as often as we could, for lunch. We’d usually get together at our house, and would order McDonald’s for our meal. It was always really fun to sit around the table, eat, and talk, and then play with our Happy Meal toys when we were finished with our food.Β My cousin and I (and probably also my sister, I just don’t remember)Β also loved playing dress-up during these visits. My sister and I had received a huge dress-up kit one year for Christmas, so we usually used that to put together our costumes. We always used to play “Prince and Princess”, and no matter what, my cousin was always the princess and I was always the prince. I never really mindedΒ that I always had to play the princeΒ back then, though, which was good. Plus at the time my hair was pretty short, so I probably looked more like a prince than my cousin did-with her long, curly, dark hair. πŸ˜‰ We always had so much fun! πŸ˜€

We were still having these visits when my cousin and her family moved about five minutes away from us, in the house that they still live in nowadays. πŸ˜‰ This was in the middle of preschool, and my cousin got to be in my class, which was really fun! We went to preschool three days a week in the afternoons, and every day, on our way to school (my mom drove all of us), us girls always used to sing this song we made up about horses. We used to sing, “Giddy, giddy, giddy-up, giddy-up,Β we’ll all have horses someday, someday”, and then went on to sing all about what we would do with our horses if we had them.Β The song changed every day, but I do remember that making “puddle angels”-snow angels, except in rain puddles instead of snow-came up pretty often in our songs. πŸ˜‰Β  We were so cute…. πŸ™‚

Day 9-If I won the lottery

Aw man, I’m literally drawing a blank here! But I’ll try to think…what would I do if I won the lottery….?

OK, I think I have a plan. So I’d probably give my parents and my sister all some money, and then maybe take everybody on a nice vacation. We’d go to one ofΒ our favorite vacation spots–don’t know which one, we’d probably all vote on that–for maybe a week? πŸ™‚

I’d also maybe keep some money for myself, and with that money I’d probably buy some of the most expensive dolls on my wishlist, especially Journey Girls Mikaella (the brunette version, who’s retired and sooo expensive now!). And maybe I’d buy myself a motorscooter, too. Those look like they’d be a lot of fun. Oh, and maybe I’d fly to Australia and buy myselfΒ a koala–as long as I paid for him In Australian dollars, which I’d somehow manage to get. πŸ˜‰

I’d also, of course, give money to charity and to our church. πŸ˜‰ I’d want to use my money to make sure that hungry kids in Africa hadΒ enough food and necessities…and maybe give themΒ some money left over for some fun stuff too. πŸ˜‰

So yeah….that’s what I’d do! πŸ˜€

I hope you enjoyed! Man…I’m sooo tired for some reason. *yawn* Until tomorrow!
