What I’ve Been Up To Lately #4!

Hey folks! If you’ve been wondering, Hey, what has Sunny been up to lately?, well, wonder no longer! I am back with another life update (hehe, don’t I sound like a newscaster?!)!

Anyway, here we go…

Reading-My sister and I had to read Tom Sawyer for school this quarter, and last week we finally finished it! I didn’t care for it very much, there was pretty much no real plot and it didn’t start getting good until close to the end. So I’m glad to be finished with it….but now I have to write some essay questions about it, so….yay. πŸ˜›

Writing-I am SUPER excited right now because I started a new story last night and am really liking how it’s turning out so far. I think it just might be my best story yet, if I do say so myself. πŸ˜‰ It doesn’t actually have a title yet…(I am really bad at coming up with titles)…but hopefully it will soon! It’s another Avalon/Cousins Next Door story: Cherie is really feeling down because no one is paying any attention to her accomplishments. I’m hoping to post it on here once I get it done! (And no, I haven’t forgotten about posting the next chapter of Dare To Be Different…I just have to find the written copy (in that bottomless pit that is also known as my room πŸ˜‰ ) and then type up the next chapter. It will be soon, promise!)

Listening To-Recently I have gotten hooked on Phil Joel, who is a Christian singer from New Zealand. He used to be in the Newsboys as the bass player, then went solo, and now has his own band called Zealand Worship. I’m listening to one of his solo albums on Spotify as I type this….I really like his voice and music style! I am especially in love with his song God Is Watching Over You….the words are so simple but it has really helped me when I’m feeling scared or sad or just whatever! XD

Watching-I try to watch The Waltons as much as I can, which is hard because it’s on at kind of a bad time, and it seems like every time I do get to watch it, it’s a boring or war-related one. πŸ˜› But last week I watched a few episodes, and they were so cute! (They were also episodes from the second season, so that explains why. πŸ™‚ ) The episodes are soooo much better when John-Boy is in them. I ❀ John-Boy. πŸ™‚

I also watched an episode of Little House the other day….it was the one where Laura had just gotten engaged to Almanzo and they were trying to figure out where to build their house once they were married. πŸ˜‰ And also Eliza Jane, Almanzo's sister (who's kind of an "old maid"), fell in love for the first time….but the guy who she liked was sort of uncomfortable around women (but still talked to her), and preferred to joke around and tell funny stories with Almanzo. I felt bad for her. She had never had a "beau" (as she called it πŸ˜‰ ) before, and she was pretty old….can you imagine? πŸ˜‰ Anyway, the episode was sooo good, and even though I kind of had a good idea about what was going to happen, I wanted to see the end. But…my family had to go somewhere so I missed the last ten minutes. I was like, "Nooo! I have to see the end of this episode!". LOL!  To make matters worse, it was a two-parter and I knew I was going to be busy at the time it was on the next day. So I have no idea what happened! Grrr! XD

Other Stuff-This weekend has been kinda chilly, but it hasn’t been too bad. Next week it’s supposed to be REALLY warm where I live, which I’m looking forward to! I’m going to be spending so much time outside the next few days (not tomorrow though….it’s going to be frigid…bleh. πŸ˜› )

My mom started using this new laundry detergent…and wow, I just love the smell of it! It’s kind of like a mixture of flowers and men’s cologne. Weird, I know, but it smells so good.

I have discovered a new love for sriracha sauce (it’s like hot sauce). My family went out to breakfast the other day, and there was a bottle of sriracha nearby, so I poured it on my scrambled eggs, and wow…it was so good! I also poured it on my (dry!) Cheerios (in honor of Phil Joel, I heard he likes sriracha and Cheerios, and ever since I’ve been wanting to try it to see if I would like it too) and well…it wasn’t all that bad. πŸ˜‰ It was pretty good. I don’t know if I would have it again though. πŸ™‚

Alright, so that’s what’s been going on in my life! By the way….if you’ve written a comment on my blog anytime between now and November(!) and noticed it never got published, don’t worry. I just found a whole bunch of unpublished comments in my “WordPress Admin” that I have never seen before and am going to work on approving and replying to them in the coming days. πŸ˜‰

Ta-ta, lovelies! πŸ˜‰ (Where did that come from? XD)

My Christmas Wishlist…Part 2

Hey everyone! Remember when I posted my Christmas wishlist? Well, today, we’re going to go back, take a look at it, and see if I got anything I asked for for Christmas! (I will say that you’ll be pleased. πŸ˜‰ )

1. Kelly Club dolls-YES, I got two of them! Reindeer Chelsie (who I really wanted) and Veterinarian Jenny. Jenny was a total surprise, and I wanted to be surprised so I am very happy to have her! Both girls are super adorable and I am having a lot of fun playing around with them.

Here they are!! πŸ™‚ (Sorry for the bad quality picture, I took this with my tablet camera. ;} )

I love Jenny's outfit! Only bad thing is that her coat doesn't come off. 😦

Don't you love Chelsie's little red nose??? So cute!

2. Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Gift of Christmas book-I did receive this! πŸ™‚ The book is really great and is filled with so many fun, Christmas-y stories. Some of the stories are really funny, too—like the one about the woman who received what she thought was a scarf from her sister…only to find out years later that it was actually a table runner. XD (And she got several compliments on this so-called scarf, too!) It’s a really awesome book. πŸ™‚

3. The Waltons Season 3 DVD-I did not get this, but I honestly don’t care. I only put it on my list as kind of a “just-in-case” thing, and it wasn’t even in the top three gifts that I wanted. πŸ˜‰

4. Mary Engelbreit 2016 Calendar-A couple of weeks before Christmas, I changed my mind about asking for this calendar. The reason was because I remembered that a few years ago, I had a Peanuts day-by-day calendar, with a comic strip for each day. I really enjoyed that calendar, so I thought I would ask for this year’s Peanuts calendar instead. I am so glad I did! I’ve really been having fun reading every day’s strip. This weekend’s really made me smile:

5. Surprises-I got many fun surprises, including two super cozy sweatshirts (one of which I am wearing right now!!), a few pairs of fun earrings, a book about the Peanuts TV specials, and more! And of course I got some delicious candy (but I’ve eaten it all up! :P)

In all, I had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you all did too! I am so blessed and grateful to have received so many great things. πŸ™‚

See you all later!

My Christmas Wishlist!

Hey everyone! Today I thought it would be fun to share my Christmas list with all of you. Yes, I’ve made it already, but hey, I knew exactly what I wanted this year (which is strange for me–usually it takes me up until around December 1 to decide what I want!), and it’s better to do it early to help ol’ Santa out, right? πŸ˜‰

Anyway, here’s what I’m asking for this year for Christmas:

1. Barbie Kelly Club DollsYou know the mini Chelsea (or Kelly) Barbie dolls in the stores? The ones that are dressed up in summer or Christmas or Halloween outfits? Well, back in the early 2000s there were similar dolls, except they were a little smaller and were called “Kelly Club” dolls. According to my mom, I had some of them when I was really little. I remember that some of them stuck around for a LONG time (my sister and I used to use them in the bathtub!), and they were super cute and fun to play with! Recently I found a neat website calledΒ  L’il Friends of Kelly that shows you all the different types of Kelly dolls that have been sold over the years, including the Kelly Club dolls. I looked at the Kelly Club dolls and realized how adorable the dolls were, and how much fun it would be to collect them, play with them, and (of course) do photoshoots with them! πŸ™‚ So, I decided to put them on my Christmas list. πŸ™‚

2. Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Gift of Christmas Book-I’m sure most of you have heard of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, but just in case you haven’t, they are books that contain little, inspirational stories in them. πŸ™‚ The Christmas-themed books are my favorite, and I’ve had my eye on this one for a while.

3. The Waltons Season 3 DVDI’ve been watching this show for a couple of years now, but over the summer was when I really got hooked on it. I was thinking about asking for one of the seasons on DVD for Christmas, and when I was looking up all of the episodes online, season 3 seemed like it would be a good choice.

4. Mary Engelbreit 2016 Day by Day CalendarI love Mary Engelbreit’s cheerful, whimsical artwork. I’ve been getting her calendars every year for about five years, and I really enjoy ripping off the pages each day and seeing a new little drawing. I keep my favorites for each month tacked up on my bulletin board. πŸ˜‰

5. Surprises!-Who doesn’t love surprises, especially at Christmas? Usually the stuff that falls under this category are things like cute clothes, jewelry, fun stuff I forgot I wanted (because Santa knows everything πŸ™‚ ), etc.

Well, that’s my 2015 Christmas list! πŸ™‚ I hope you had fun reading through it. Now what I want to know is…what do you want for Christmas (or Hanukkah, if you happen to be Jewish?) πŸ˜‰
